Week of Febuary 2nd

Well, we lost Monday to a snow day and we will see what the rest of the week has in store for school. Tuesday, your Sunshine Math sheet from last week is due at the start of your math class. The whole 8th grade will be taking a math placement test for the high school. Wednesday is a half-day with short classes and a new POW will be passed out. We will continue making progress on the lessons in Chapter 4. There maybe an SBR test at the end of the week.

Week of January 26th

Welcome to the third quarter. 18 weeks of school left to go. I think this wil be a short week with the major snow storm heading our way on Tuesday. Monday, I pass out the new Sunshine Math sheet and we will keep working on Lesson 4.6. Tuesday was supposed to be spent taking the placement test for high school math classes, but that may have to be pushed to Wednesday. We will continue to work our way through Chapter 4. The Sunshine Math assignment is due on Friday.

Week of January 19th

Hope that you had a good long weekend. This is going to be a fast week, but at least there aren't any snow storms in the forecast. Tuesday, we will go over the quiz that you took on Friday. Your POW's are due on Wednesday, last one of the quarter and you know the expetations. Thursday, will be our final SBR test of the quarter and the quarter wraps up on Friday and you will be half way through your 8th grade year. At some point before the end of the month the entire 8th grade will be taking a math placement test for the high school, but a date has not been set.

Week of January 12th

We have another five day week, but Wednesday is a half-day with the Talent Show. Monday, we will start in on Lesson 4. There is no new Sunshine Math sheet this week. POW #7 is due on Tuesday and we will be work on a worksheet covering Lesson 4. Thursday, I'll pass out the last POW for the quarter and we will review the first four lesson on the chapter. There will be a quiz on 4.1 to 4.4 on Friday. Friday is also Pink Pants Day as there is no school on Monday.

Week of January 5th

Happy New Year. Hope everyone is rested and had a good vacation. Now it is time to get back to our school work and learning. We only have 14 days left in the quarter and then we are half way through the year. We will be starting a new chapter, completing two POW's and taking two SBR tests, so things will be busy. Monday, I will pass back everything that was completed just before vacation. There will be a new Sunshine Math sheet on Monday that will be due on Friday. You all know this already, but if there is a snow day, you are still expected to get your work done and be ready to turn in work or take a test the next time that we have school.

Week of December 15th

Our last week of school before vacation and it looks like we will be able to get in all five days. Monday, we will go over last weeks Sunshine Math assignment and review for the test. No Sunshine Math this week. The Chapter 3 Test is on Tuesday. POW #6 is due on Wednesday. Thursday, we can wrap everything up. Friday is Pink Pants Day is a concert in the morning and the faculty - student basketball game in the afternoon. Enjoy the two week vacation and the holidays.

Week of December 8th

The second of our three weeks between vacations. Monday, we will go over last weeks Sunshine Math and pass out this weeks one. We have two lessons left to go in Chapter 3 and want to take the chapter test before vacation. There is a half day on Wednesday and we have short classes, a good day to take a SBR test. A new POW will be passed out mid week.
