Week of March 27th

This is supposed to be the last week of the quarter, but we will see if they are going to extend it due to all the snow days that we have had this winter. Monday, we will be taking a quiz on 5.5 to 5.7. Tuesday will be spent on corrections and reviewing for the Chapter 5 Test on Wednesday. POW #12 is due on Wednesday. Thursday is a SBR Test and we will wrap things up on Friday, unless the quarter is extended.

Week of March 20th

We have a five day week, but it is MEA testing this week. Testing runs from 8 to 11, Monday through Wednesday, so make sure to be on time and try not to miss school. You will have AA and your four core classes, but the periods will be shorter. Lunch remains at the same time. I will be passing out a new Sunshine Math on Monday and it is due on Friday. The last POW of the quarter will be passed out on Wednesday. Happy testing.

Week of March 13th

We will be taking a break from the book this week and working on a poster project on the Pythagorean Theorem. Wednesday is a half-day with shorter classes, where we will be taking our next SBR Test. Thursday, will be spent presenting your completed poster to your class. It is also Pink Pants Day as there are no classes on Friday due to parent conferences. I have that the forecasted snow storm doesn't cause us to have a snow day.

Week of March 6th

It has been good to finally have some five day weeks of school. We have completed out studies of the first few lessons in Chapter 5 and will be reviewing for the quiz on Wednesday. POW #11 is due on Wednesday, be sure to include all the required parts in your write-up. We will be viewing the school play on Thursday. Friday, we will begin our project on the Pythagorean Theorem.

Week of February 28th

Hope that you had a good vacation. We are now half way through the third quarter. Monday, we will be getting our new textbooks for the second half of the course and starting in on Chapter 5. A new Sunshine Math assignment will be passed out on Monday and due on Friday.

Week of February 14th

Not good to start the week with another snow day. Tuesday, the POW is due and we will being doing our corrections to the Chapter 4 test. Wednesday is a half-day with no classes. SBR Test on Thursday. Friday is Pink Pants Day and we will probably be playing Chids. Have a great vacation.

Week of February 6th

Should be a regular five day week, but there are interruptions to the schedule on Monday and Friday and we shall have to keep an eye on the storm that is coming mid-week. I plan to go over the last lesson in the chapter on Monday and have a review day on Tuesday. It would be great to have the chapter test on Wednesday and then have Thursday to do corrections. Friday is the NAEP Testing that will pull many 8th graders from their regular classes. Stay tuned.
