Week of March 23rd

Eight and a half days left in this third quarter. We are going to briefly touch on Chpater 6 on Monday and Tuesday and then move on to Chapter 7, all the 8th grade math classes are doing this same schedule. The last POW of the quarter will be passed out on Wednesday and due the following Tuesday. Thursday is a Pink Pants Day, as there is a teacher in-service day on Friday, with no classes.

Week of March 16th

Last full five day week of the quarter, as the next two are short ones. Last Sunshine Math sheet will be passed out on Monday, due on Firday. Next POW will be passed out on Wednesday. We will be finishing up Chapter 5, reviewing and then taking the chapter test on Thursday. SBR Test on Friday. Have a good week.

Week of March 9th

This will be a fast week with a half day on Wednesday and no school on Friday, due to parent conferences. We will continue our focus on Pythagorean Theorem by creating a poster project. No Sunshine Math sheet this week, but a new POW will be passed out mid week. Wednesday we will be celebrating Pi Day since we don't have school on the real day, March 14th.

Week of March 2nd

This is one of two five day weeks this month. Looks like we can get through to Friday without a snow day. Monday, we will be going over last weeks Sunshine Math and a new sheet will be passed out towards the end of class. Start it Monday night and do a few problems each day, it will be due on Friday. We will spend the rest of the period reviewing for the quiz covering 5.1 to 5.4 that will be on Tuesday. Wednesday, the POW that you have been working on is due and will continue to work our way through Chapter 5. The SBR test is on Thursday and so is the play, so no Tutoral that day. Friday, your Sunshine Math sheet is due and we will wrap up the week, going over the turned in tests and assignments.

Week of February 23rd

Hope that everyone had a good break and are ready to get back to work. We have six weeks left in this quarter and three of them are short weeks. New Sunshine Math sheet on Monday, due on Friday. New POW mid week. New math textbook on Monday, as we dive into Chapter 5.

Week of Febuary 9th

I was hoping for a five day week, but another snowy Monday changed those hopes. Tuesday, we will go over Lesson 4.8 and students should finish their POW's for homework. The POW's are due on Wednesday and we will go over 4.9 and review for the test. Chapter 4 test on Thursday and then Friday is Pink Pants Day, and we will be going over the test and POW. Have a great break and let's hope we can avoid any more snow days.

Week of Febuary 2nd

Well, we lost Monday to a snow day and we will see what the rest of the week has in store for school. Tuesday, your Sunshine Math sheet from last week is due at the start of your math class. The whole 8th grade will be taking a math placement test for the high school. Wednesday is a half-day with short classes and a new POW will be passed out. We will continue making progress on the lessons in Chapter 4. There maybe an SBR test at the end of the week.
