Week of January 6th

Well, lets hope that we can have a full week of school this week. They are calling for rain, but the temperature should be warm enough so it won't be all ice on the way to school on Monday. Plan to pass out a new Sunshine Math sheet on Monday, due Friday. The next POW will be passed out on Tuesday, due the middle of next week. We will continue to work on slope and graphing equations. Six weeks till the next vacation. Stay warm.

Happy New Year

I hope that you have had a most enjoyable vacation and are eager to get back to school. I am going to be wearing my pink pants to school on Thursday, as I don't think that we will be having school on Friday, but we shall see. On Thursday, I will be passing out the next POW and will be doing more work with graphing equations. Keep that shovel handy.

Week of December 16th

Well, that was a good snow storm. Glad that it came in on a Saturday night and maybe it won't affect school this week, though the is more weather forecasted for Tuesday. Monday, the plan is to do some review of our start to Chapter 3 and introduce Lesson 4. A quiz on Tuesday shouldn't take very long as it only covers the first two lessons, basic slope questions. When you come to school on Wednesday, your POW should be printed out already with your written work attached to the back. You must make a chart or graph to show your work. We will continue to work our way through the middle of the chapter on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is Pink Pants Day and short classes in the morning and the faculty-student basketball game in the afternoon. Have a great vacation. When you return, there will only be 15 days left in the quarter.

Week of December 9th

The weather might be a little messy on Monday morning, but we should be having school. We have two days, then Diversity Day (a half day) and then two days. After spending several days using math websites last week, we will be getting back into our textbook and starting in on Chapter 3. No Sunshine Math, but the new POW will be passed out Tuesday.

Week of December 2nd

Only three weeks until our next vacation, this stretch is going to go fast, hopefully we won't have any snow days. Monday, we will be going over the Chapter 2 test and passing out a new Sunshine Math, due on Friday. No POW this week, but we will be doing one before vacation. Starting in on Chapter 3 this week. My intern will be starting a week of lead teaching on Friday.

Week of November 25th

Students worked on their POW's, Sunshine Math, Chapter 2 and SBR tests last week. On Monday, we will be finishing up anything that wasn't completed and starting to go over what has been corrected. Then I will be posting grades. Any remaining work will be gone over on Tuesday, but we are losing Period 6 to an 8th grade assembly to hear a speaker. Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels.

Weel of November 18th

We actually have a five day week this week, one of the remaining 15 we have left this year. New Sunshine Math on Monday, due on Friday. Your POW #5 that you have been working on is due on Wednesday. We will be finishing up Chapter 2 these next few days, reviewing and then taking a test on Thursday. SSR test on Friday. Then it is just two days of school till Thanksgiving vacation.
