Week of May 28th

Welcome to the last week of May and a short week. We are going to be doing a poster project on Tuesday and Wednesday on one or more of the lessons in Chapter 6. Presentations will be done on Friday. There will be a SBR test on Wednesday, when I will be passing out the last POW of the year. There are no classes on Thursday, due to the the job shadowing day.

Week of May 20th

Last normal five day week of the school year. I'll be passing out a new Sunshine Math sheet on Monday, due on Friday. POW #15 is due on Wednesday. Chapter 5 is completed and test scores are posted on IC. We will start in on Chapter 6 this week. Need to take another SBR test at some point. Have a good week.

Week of May 13th

Another short week of classes due to the field trip to Funtown on Friday. Monday, we will be doing the last lesson in this chapter. Tuesday will be spent reviewing the chapter. The chapter test will be on Wednesday and I'll be passing out a new POW. Thursday, we will be going over the test and wrapping up the week. Have a good week.

Week of May 6th

We have another four day week of classes coming up. NWEA testing in math is completed and they will now be testing in their ELA classes for the next three days. On Monday, we will be going over their quizzes and POW from last week and introducing Lesson 5. Tuesday will focus on completing a worksheet on that lesson. The next POW is due on Wednesday, #14. Thursday, will be another SBR test and we will continue working through this chapter. The entire 8th grade will be spending Friday morning taking a science test and our team should be having AA in the afternoon. No Sunshine Math this week.

Week of April 29th

Well, we have two normal days of classes this week. Monday, we will be going over the Sunshine Math that was passed in on Friday and reviewing for the quiz on Tuesday. The quiz on Lessons 1-4 is on Tuesday and then we will practice logging into the website for the NWEA Testing on Wednesday and Friday. Thursday is a half-day of school. Also, the POW #13 is due on Tuesday. May is going to go by fast, hang on.

Week of April 22nd

Hope that you have had a good vacation and are ready to head back to school. 13% of the regular class days for the fourth quarter are already completed. We have a five day week of classes this week. A new Sunshine Math is ready to go and will be due on Friday. Also, a new POW will be passed out mid-week. The new textbook will be passed out on Monday. Chapter Five will take us into some lessons on geometry. Hope that you have gone over your report cards and unit test with your parents and set goals for the final quarter of middle school. You have seven more Mondays of school till summer vacation.

Week of April 8th

The three days of classes this week make up about 12% of the teachable days for the fourth quarter. The month of May looks very busy. The entire 8th grade has now finished the first half of the textbook and will be receiving their new books after vacation. In order to make these days meaningful, all classes are going to be taking a test on the first four chapters on Tuesday. Students need to practice taking longer tests in preparation for the mid-terms and finals that they will be facing next year in high school.
