Week of February 6th

I want to get this posted now, so I won't have to worry about it after the Super Bowl is over tonight. We have a five day week this week and the weather forecast looks good. Mrs. Libby and I plan on finish teaching the rest of the lessons in Chapter 11 this week, starting with 11.6 on Monday. Monday we will be going over your last Sunshine Math and passing out the new one which will be due on Friday. POW #10 will be passed out on Wednesday and due on the 15th. That means that we will have two POW's completed before vacation and will just have two to go before the end of the third quarter. I would like to take the next SBR on Thursday. The plan is to take the Chapter 11 test on Valentine's Day.

Week of January 30th

We have three, five day weeks of school left before vacation and hopefully, no snow days. Monday, we will finish reviewing sections 11.1 to 11.4 in preparation for our quiz on Tuesday. Wednesday, POW #9, the first POW of the third quarter is due. The rest of the week will be spent continuing to work our way through Chapter 11. There will be a new Sunshine Math passed out on Monday, which will be due on Friday. On your school issued laptops there is GeoGebra, this is a website that is fully of great applications, that Mrs. Libby and I learned about at our in-service day on Friday. We will be using GeoGebra during the coming weeks and there are many connections with our work in Chapter 11.

Week of January 23rd

Welcome the the start of the second half of the year. I wanted to give a quiz on 11.1 to 11.4 on Wednesday, but I think that is rushing things during this short week. Monday, we will go over the 11.3 worksheet that we started in class on Friday. Tuesday, we will be working on 11.4, which will continue on Wednesday. Thursday is the Talent Show and a half day and Friday, there are no classes. No Sunshine Math this week, but I will be passing out the next POW on Wednesday. I want to do two POW's before vacation and two after, before the quarter finishes up at the end of March.

Week of January 17th

Last week of the quarter and it is a short one. Tuesday, we will be going over the Benchmark that you did for Mrs. Chidsey. I have corrected your Sunshine Math assignment
and we will go over any the questions that you want to see on the board. My intern for the spring semester will be in class to say hello and start to get to know all of you. Wednesday, POW #8, that you have been working on for a week is due. We will start going over the lessons in Chapter 11. There will be no Sunshine Math due this week.

Week of January 9th

Normal, five day week of school this week. New Sunshine Math that I will pass out on Monday, that is due on Friday. New POW that will be passed out mid-week and due next Wednesday. We will finish up our work in Chapter 12 and take a quiz on Tuesday. Next, we will be getting into Chapter 11. Have a good week, lets hope we don't get any changes to the schedule on Thursday due to the weather.

Week of January 2nd

Happy New Year. Hope that you had a good vacation. I have caught a cold right at the end of vacation, but will be alright. We have seven weeks of classes till the next vacation: three short weeks and four five day weeks, if we don't have a snow day(s). We are going to start Chapter 12, which is Probability. There are no Sunshine Math or POW to start this week. The quarter ends on the 20th and then we will be half-way through the school year. We reviewed 12.1 and 12.2 on Tuesday, which most of the students remembered from last year. We will be now focusing on 12.4 to 12.8.

Week of December 19h

Last couple of days of school in 2011. You have gone over your grades in your classes with your parents and things are going well or you have made up a plan for improvement. Monday, the POW that you have been working on for a week is due. Tuesday is your test on Chapter 6. Wednesday we will go over the POW and test. Thursday we will be getting ready for vacation. Get all your work in for all your classes before vacation arrives.
