Week of September 12th

First full five day week of school, so we can get lots accomplished. Monday, I will be passing out your first Sunshine Math assignment. It will be due on Friday, don't forget to show your work. Tuesday, we have a quiz on the first lessons in the book, up through 1.4 and SBR #1. Wednesday, your POW is due that you have been working on. Thursday and Friday, I will give back what has been corrected and we will continue moving through Chapter 1. Have a good week and keep those questions coming. Bring your planner home each night.

Week of September 5th

Labor Day Weekend is over and we are all ready to get things rolling in class. On Thursday you picked out your textbook and I hope that you can get it covered very soon for an easy homework grade. We will start reviewing Chapter 1 and POW #1 will be passed out on Thursday to be due in the middle of next week. Short week, just four days. No Sunshine Math this week. Laptops should be passed out by mid-week and Open House is on Wednesday night from 6 to 7 PM. Have a good week.

Week of Augsut 29th

I started doing this weekly blog in December of 2007 and it has seemed helpful to folks. I hope this will give you the general idea of what we are going to be doing in math class during the upcoming week. We will be just getting organized during this first three day week. I will be passing out your textbook soon and please write your name on the inside cover and cover the book by when we return after the long Labor Day Weekend.

Week of June 6th

Our last real week of school, does it seem possible? There is a community service day on Thursday with no regular classes. In social studies, we will be discussing current events, collect textbooks on Wednesday and looking at the events leading up to the Civil War. In math class, we continue to make our way through Chapter 8. Tuesday, POW #16 is due. Wednesday there is a quiz on 8.1 to 8.3 and our last SBR. I will be collecting
math textbooks on Friday.

Week of May 30th

With Monday being a holiday, this will be a fast week. On Tuesday, my plan in social studies it going to be to read through Chapter 11 and make a poster on what ever event is of interest to you. We will have a work day on Wednesday and present the poster projects to the class on Thursday. On Friday, we will do an in-class Current Event that will be turned in at the end of class. In math, I planned to pass back your retest of Chapter 7 and go over the problems and then start in on Chapter 8. I will be passing out your last POW of the year and it will be due next Tuesday. Week of May 23rd

One of our last five day weeks of the school year, this week. In social studies, we will be doing a mix of current events and readings our of our textbook. In math class, we will be getting a new Sunshine Math on Monday, due Friday. We have the Chapter 7 test on Tuesday. The POW that you have been working on is due on Wednesday. Have a good week.

Week of May 16th

Good to have NWEA testing completed. We have a short week to work with this week, as there is a half-day of school on Thursday. My planing is to finish up our work in Chapter 7 this week. The last lessons are the same thing we have been doing, but just with an inequality sign instead of an equal sign. There will be a new Sunshine Math passed out on Monday and a new POW passed out on Wednesday. In social studies we will finish up Chapter 8 and do an in-class current event assignment on Friday. Stay dry this week.
