Wednesday, I want to check your stock market project and see how things are coming along. Thursday, we will be seeing the play and probably having short classes. In social studies, we will continue to work our way through Chapter 6. There are no CE or SM due this week. Looking forward to seeing you and your folks at conferences.

Week of March 7th

This is looking to be a five day week of school, which will be good. In math class, we will be going over the quizzes that you took on Friday and the Sunshine Math that was turned in. Many of you are all set on adding and subtracting negative and positive numbers, but if you are not we have some extra work to do. We will be moving on to multiplying and dividing negative and positive integers this week. POW #11 is due on Wednesday and Sunshine Math is due on Friday. We will take a quiz on 6.1 to 6.5, not this week but the next.
In social studies, the poster projects seem to be going well. We will have another work day on Monday. You have all the notes for our test on Chapter 5 on Tuesday. Those notes are your study guide and you may use them during the test, but not the book. I will collect your posters on Tuesday. We will be watching the last 40 minutes of the Liberty video on Wednesday. Thursday, we will present the posters and use Friday to go over the test. No Current Event due this week.
You will be printing out your progress reports on Wednesday during Advisory at the end of the day. Make sure that you have completed the survey that I sent you by email last week, so that I can fill in your class participation grade.

Week of February 14th

You thought that this week might not ever get here, but it is here. Spirit Week and the last week before vacation. It also looks like we will have another five day wee, which is really good news.
In social studies, we will keep reading and taking notes on Chapter 5. Mid-week will will watch some more of our Liberty video, I still have to watch the part that I missed on Wednesday. No current event this week, but I am going to have you write up your thoughts on the differences and similarities on what is happening in Egypt with the American Revolution. It will be interesting to see what you come up with and that will be due on Thursday.
In math class, we are going to finish up Chapter 5 and take a test on Thursday. Your POW #10 is due on Wednesday, so we only have two to do in March. SBR #9 test on Wednesday. No Sunshine Math this week. Should be a good week and I hope to pass everything back on Friday and update IC.

Mid-week Welcome to Febraury

Well, it is only February 1st and we have had more snow then we had all of February '10. We know that school has been called off for Wednesday, so it is good that you took home your laptops and books. I will collect your POW on Thursday and we will review 5.1 to 5.4. You already know this material and you have been practicing problems from 1 to 32 on page 709. I hope that we can take a quiz on Friday and be done with this section. Your Sunshine Math is due on Friday and I gave you the answer to the cookie problem today as well as explained it. More and more of you seem to be getting onto Young Money and starting to buy your million dollars worth of stocks.
In ss, you have your review questions and map for the quiz on Monday. You have been working on your current event assignment and the topic to write about is the weather. I am planning to show another part of the Liberty video on Thursday and then do some review work on Friday.
