Week on January 17th

Last week of the second quarter is a short one and may even get shorter depending on what comes from the sky on Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. In math class, we have one last lesson in Chapter 4 and then we will take a quiz on 4.4 to 4.7 on Thursday. On Wednesday, the Stock Market Project that was started on November 9th is due. We have been over the details many times and what needs to be turned in is on the bottom of the purchase/sale stock sheet. There is no Sunshine Math this week and no POW is due. Focus on getting the stock market project turned in and doing your best on the quiz.
In social studies, we are going to take a break from the book and our readings in Chapter 4 on the colonies and do a project. We are going to use what we have learned
about the colonies and pick where we would like to live and design a brochure that would encourage others to want to come and live in the same colony. Wednesday and Thursday will be work days and the brochures will be presented to the class on Friday.

Week on January 10th

Hopefully, we will have five full days of school before Pink Pants Day on Friday. I am enjoying learning about the colonies in social studies and I hope that you are also. We are going to continue of readings on Chapter 4 and the three regions of East Coast Colonies. Martin Luther King Day is next Monday, so our Current Event assignment this week will be on that subject. I will be sending out an email on Monday with the assignment, but you are to do some research and write up your findings on his life and tragic death.
We continue to roll along through Chapter 4 in Math class. On Monday, I will return your Sunshine Math #10 and pass out #11, that will be due on Friday. You will also get back your quizzes on 4.1 to 4.3 and SBR #8. Please do quiz corrections on a separate piece of paper, if necessary. You have already been working on POW #8 and that is due on Wednesday. We will be doing 4.4 on Monday and continuing our work from that point. If there is a snow date, the same schedule continues, so don't let things pile up on you.
