Week of OCtober 11th

Well, it is another short week, but good to have testing done. We will be doing a poser project on any part of the Metric System to finish up Chapter 2 this week. New Sunshine Math on Tuesday, that will be due on Friday. The plan is to present the posters on Thursday and take the Chapter 2 test on Friday. In social studies, we will be reading and working in Chapter 2.

Week of Cotober 4th

Just when we were getting into a routine, we have a change in the schedule with state testing this week and a half day on Friday. There is testing in the morning and in the afternoon with 20 minute classes in between. I will be passing back work that the students did last week and going over their work. There is no homework this week, no POW, no Sunshine Math, nothing. They should be sure to have a good reading book with them this week. Enjoy the long weekend and then another short week next week.

Week of September 27th

Last week I felt like we were finally into a routine at school. Now, we are already into our last week of September. In math class, we continue to make our way through Chapter 2. We will be taking a quiz on 2.1 to 2.4 on Wednesday, your POW #2 is due on Thursday and your Sunshine Math #3 is due on Friday.
In social studies, we will be make up our countries during the first part of the week and learning about the Land Bridges on Friday. All the students now know how to log into to get their grades.

Week of September 20th

Glad that everyone had a good time on the field trip. Other then the bees, I thought things went smoothly. First time I have taken a field trip with no parents joining us. In social studies, I hope to finish up our introductory geography lessons and take a quiz. Then move on the the first part of the text book.
I math, we will be reviewing on Monday for our test on Chapter 1 on Tuesday. You will be getting a new Sunshine Math packet on Monday that will be due on Friday. I will give back last week's packet on Tuesday. Look for a new POW come mid-week time.

Week of September 13th

We have a full week of school this week, but since our field trip is on Friday, it is going to feel like another short week. In math class, we will go over your quizzes on Monday and then keep working our way through Chapter 1. Your first POW is due on Wednesday.
In social studies, we are going to be spending some more time on places in the world and then taking a look at the Constitution, since Constitution Day in on Thursday.

Week of September 6th

We have another short week of school. I will be passing out the permission slip for our first field trip on Wednesday.

In math class, we will be starting in on our study of Chapter 1. We will be going over 1.1 to 1.4 and taking a quiz on Friday. I will be taking about and passing out POW #1 on Thursday and it will be due on the 15th.

In social studies, we will be working on our posters and hanging them up around the room for your parents to see at open house on Wednesday night. We will be refreshing our map skills and going over latitude and longitude terms.

Week of June 7th

Made it to our last full week of school. Monday, we will be selling our stocks and finishing up our Stock Market Project that you have been working on since April 7th. Tuesday, we will be turning in our projects and our text books. Wednesday, I have a fun activity for you to do. Thursday and Friday, we will be doing our Consumer Fair events. Have good week and getting all your final assignments turned in on time.
