Week of Feb. 8th

Nice job on your Chapter 5 quiz and test. Check your grades at the GMS portal or look at your quizzes and tests, if you aren't pleased with your grades: study, practice and ask questions and take the quiz or test again before Friday. Your POW #9 is due on Wednesday and should not be turned in late. We will be working on an iMovie this week that is on any math topic. Stay healthy this week and no snow days.

Week of February 1, 2010

A new week and a new month start on Monday. We will be going over our quiz covering 5.1 through 5.4 that was completed last Friday with the sub. Any needed retakes will be on Tuesday during SSR/Tutorial in my room. We will be finishing up the last two lessons in Chapter 5 and taking a test on Thursday except for Period 3, who will be taking it on Friday morning. The first POW of the quarter will be passed out on Wednesday. Students should also be updating their new stock market project numbers.

Week of January 25th

First week of the quarter and last week of January. We are starting in on Chapter 5.
The first four lessons cover adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions. We have been over this material before and you have been seeing it regularly on your SBR tests. We will have a quiz on Friday. Tuesday, we will be starting a new stock market project. Thursday, we are going to be seeing the Talent Show and it is an early release day.

Week of January 18th

Short week this week. We are supposed to get more snow on Tuesday night, but hopefully we will have school on Wednesday. Your stock market project that you
have been working on since November 3rd is due on Wednesday. Please turn it in on time, you know exactly what is expected. We will be finishing up Chapter 4 this week and will be having a quiz at the end of the week on 4.4 through 4.7.

January 11th

We are back in the swing of things now. Will be going over our 4.1 - 4.3 quizzes. Most of you did very well on it as well as SBR #8. Most of you are earning 3's now. POW #8, our last one of the quarter, is due on Wednesday. You should make a cover sheet for this one and you must show your work. We will continue to work our way through Chapter 4. Our stock market project that we started on November 3 is now drawing to a close. On Friday, we will be selling our stocks. Our write up is due the 20th.

Week of January 4th

Happy New Year and I hope that you had a good vacation. We will be starting in on a new chapter this week, Chapter 4. I will pass out the last POW of the quarter on Wednesday and it will be due the following Wednesday. Don't forget that your stock market projects that you have been working on since November 4th are due on the 20th.

Week of December 14th

Last full week of classes before vacation arrives. The plan is to finish up our work in Chapter 3 and take a test on Thursday, except for Period 3, which will be taking it on Friday morning. You already have POW #7 and it is due on Friday. Have a good week.
