Week of October 9th

Hope that you enjoyed the long weekend and are ready for another short week of school. Tuesday, we will finish going over 1.7 and Scientific Notation. There will be a quiz on 1.5 -1.7 on Wednesday and a new POW will be passed out. Thursday, we will be moving onto Lesson 1.8 and then 1.9.

October 1st

Three of the next four weeks are short ones leading up to Parent Conferences at the end of the month. We will be finishing up our poster projects and will be starting the presentations on Monday and completing them on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will be spent focusing on 1.7 and applying our Scientific Notation skills to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. There is no school on Friday or Monday due to the long Columbus Day Weekend.

Week of September 24th

Last week of the month. We will be finishing up our work with negative exponents before spending some time on Scientific Notation. A poster project will help students understand this concept. Look for another SBR Test towards the end of the week. POW #2 is due on Wednesday.

Week of September 17th

We have completed our review work of addition, subtraction and order of operations using integers. Now we are making our way through Chapter 1. Mid-week there will be a quiz on the first four lessons. Look for our next POW on Wednesday. Wednesday is a half-day.

Week of September 10th

We have been working of worksheets covering addition and subtraction. On Monday and Tuesday, we will be completing the last ones which will cover order of operations. The first POW is due on Wednesday, there is no big write up, but all work needs to be shown. The Fall STAR360 Test will be given on Wednesday. We will start getting into Chapter 1 in our textbooks on Thursday, covering sections 1 and 2, with the plan to get to 3 on Friday. Friday, will be our first SBR Test.

Week of June 11th

Our last full week of school and it isn't a full week of classes. Monday, we will be taking our last SBR Test. Tuesday, we have short classes in the morning, as we will be going over to the high school in the afternoon. Dismissal is from the high school. POW #16 is due on Wednesday. We will be doing a fun activity on Thursday. The 8th Grade class trip to Range Pond is on Friday, hope that the weather is good.

Week of May 28th

Short week of school due to the holiday on Monday. Tuesday, we will be going over the SBR Test and practice quiz on the start of Chapter 8. The POW #15 is due on Wednesday and a chart must be attached to the write up. There is a quiz on 8.1 to 8.3. Thursday and Friday, we will be working on Lesson 4 and going over the quiz and POW.
