Week of October 12th

Hope that you have enjoyed having Monday off and are ready for a fast week. We will go over the last two lessons in Chapter 1, collect your POW #3 on Wednesday and take a SBR test this week. Start to check over your notes and quizzes in preparation for the Chapter 1 Test early next week.

Week of October 5th

Short week of classes, with Friday being an in-service day. We will be focusing on practicing our scientific notation skills, Lessons 6 and 7, during the first part of the week. Wednesday, we will take a short quiz on those two lessons and pass out POW #3, due on the 14th. Sixteen days left in the first quarter.

Week of September 28th

Our last full five day week until the start of November. Going to do some more work on scientific notation on Monday and then start working on our poster projects. Work day on Tuesdasy and then presentations on Wednesday. New Sunshine Math sheet will be passed out on Monday, due on Friday. POW #2 due on Wednesday. Aiming for a SBR test on Thursday. Then we will wrap up the week on Friday and go over your POW's and SBR test.

Week of September 21st

We have NWEA Testing in math classes on Monday and Tuesday. Please try to avoid missing any school this week. Thursday, Friday and possible next Monday will be ELA testing. Wednesday is a half-day. Our next POW will be probably passed out on Tuesday. Thursday, we will be starting in our our next lesson. Friday, we will wrap things up for another week. No Sunshine Math sheet this week.

Week of September 14th

We have a normal, five day week this week, so let's make good use of our classtime. Monday, I'll be passing out our first Sunshine Math sheet, that will be due on Friday. Your POW that you have been working on is due on Wednesday at the start of class. Thursday, we will have a quiz on the first four lessons in Chapter 1 and a SBR test. We will keep working our way through Chapter 1, keep asking questions.

Week of September 7th

I guess that I could have written something for last week, but we are really getting things going this week, though it is a short week. Tuesdsay, we will be getting things rolling and continue our working in Chapter 1. The first POW of the year will be passed out mid-week and due a week later. Math is not a spectator sport, please participate.

Week of June 8th

Last week of classes for the year. Monday, we will be working on Lesson 6, the last lesson in Chapter 8. Step Up Day is Tuesday and it is important that everyone comes to school. We will be having shortened classes. Wednesday, the final POW of the year is due and we will be reviewing the chapter. Chapter 8 test on Thursday along with a SBR test. If you don't get to the SBR test, you can complete it on Friday. Have a good last full week of 8th grade.
