Week of October 21st

Yet, another short week this week. Monday we will be reviewing Chapter 1. Test is on Tuesday. New POW on Wednesday and a half-day of school with short classes. Thursday, we will catch up on any backwork or retests and it is Pink Pants Day. Friday, there are no classes due to student-parent-teacher conferences. No Sunshine Math assignment due this week.

Week of October 15th

We have lost a day this week, due to the long weekend, so there is no Sunshine Math due this week. Your POW #3 that you have been working on is due on Wednesday. We will continue to work our way through roots and the final lessons of this first chapter.

Week of October 7th

Testing is now over and we can get things back to normal. Review sheet on scientific notation on Monday to be ready for the quiz on Tuesday. If you do the worksheet, the quiz will be easy. A new Sunshine Math sheet will also be passed out, that is due on Friday. Next we will be getting into roots in the last lessons of this chapter. A new POW will be passed out mid week. SBR test at the end of the week or next Tuesday.

Week of September 30th

We have testing this week, so after Monday, the rest of the week won't follow the usual routines. No Sunshine Math or POW this week and there is a half-day of school on Wednesday. We will be doing a poster project on scientific notation during math classes, with presentations on Friday. Please try not to miss any school this week.

Week of September 23rd

This is our third of three, five day weeks to get the school year started. There are six weeks left in this quarter and three of them have half days or no school days. Sunshine Math #3 will be passed out on Monday and due on Friday. POW #2 is due on Wednesday. We will be spending time in class focusing on scientific notation. There will be our second SBR test towards to end of the week.

Week of September 16th

Our second of three, five days weeks is at hand. We will continue to make our way through Chapter 1. You can see by the results of your SBR test and 30 second multipication test, what areas you need to practice, each night for 10 minutes. Your efforts now will pay off big time now and as you make the move to high school. A new Sunshine Math (SM) will be passed out on Monday and due on Friday, please turn it in on Thursday, if you aren't coming to school on Friday. POW #2 will be passed out on Wednesday, due the following Wednesday. There will be a quiz on the first four lessons in Chapter 1, mid week. Keep asking questions and do your work.

Week of September 9th

Now we start a string of three, five day weeks. Let's plan to get some good work accomplished. Monday, we will start in on Chapter 1 and keep moving as the material some be familiar. The first Sunshine Math sheet will be passed out and it will be due on Friday. POW #1 is due on Wednesday. Planning to taking our first SBR (Standards Based Reporting) test on Thursday. It doesn't count toward the grade for the quarter, and is based on a 1 - 4 scale. Keep asking questions and write everything done in your planner.
