Week of September 3rd

Good to have a day of school last week to get things going, but Tuesday will feel like a first day in many ways again. Tuesday, I plan on getting a seating chart set up, so that I can start learning names and possibly pass out the new textbooks. Open House is from 6:30 to 7:30, so please bring your parents by to meet me and see the classroom. Then on Wednesday, we can start diving into Chapter 1. I will be passing out our first POW mid-week. If you have questions, please ask them.

Week of June 4th

Wow, last full week of school. Time to wrap things up and send you off to the high school. Monday, we will be taking our 16th and final SBR test. Your last POW is due on Tuesday, this is a change from what it says on the bottom of the sheet. It is a much easier POW and you have had plenty of time to find the answer and do a good write-up. Tuesday is also Step-Up Day to the high school and we will be having four short classes. Wednesday we will be going over the SBR test and POW. Please be sure that you have your textbook with you on Thursday, as it will be time to turn it in. Friday is your field trip, so lets hope that the rain has stopped by then.

Week of May 28th

Short week of classes this week, glad that we have NWEA testing for math completed. Tuesday, we will go over last weeks POW and do the last lesson in Chapter 10. Wednesday, I'll pass out the last POW for the year and review for the Chapter 10 test on Thursday. Friday, we will go over the test.

Week of May 21st

Our last full week of school in May, as we start to wind things down or up depending on your point of view. We will be covering 10.6 on Monday and Tuesday. POW #15 is due on Wednesday. The 8th grade should be starting NWEA testing on Thursday, with math for two days. Enjoy this great weather.

Week of May 14th

There are a lot of activities going on this week and not many full days of classes. Hope to get through 10.5 and pass out the new POW on Wednesday. Field trips on Tuesday and Thursday and a half day on Friday.

Week of May 7th

It is good that you all use your planners as there is a lot to write down on the schedule. Monday is our Quiz on 10.1 to 10.3. You may use your packets and calculators. Also, a SBR. Half the team has their field trip on Tuesday. POW is due on Wednesday. Whole 8th grade is taking that science test on Thursday. Then it will be Friday already. Have a good week.

Week of April 30th

Thought that we were all set for NWEA testing this week, but then on Friday afternoon, they said that we might not be ready to go. We will see what Monday morning brings us. We will either have testing in math on Monday and Tuesday or go on with Chapter 10 and finding the area of a circle. No Sunshine Math this week and I'll be passing out a new POW on Wednesday.
