Week of October 29th

Good to see so many of your parents at conferences, thank you for coming. Monday, we will be working on Lesson 3. Tuesday will be a review day and POW #4 needs to be finished up for homework. After your POW is turned in, there will be a SBR Test on Wednesday. Quiz on 2.1 to 2.3 is scheduled for Thursday and the quarter finishes up Friday. Happy Halloween.

Week of October 22nd

Short week of classes due to parent conferences, half-day on Wednesday and no school on Friday. We have wrapped up Chapter 1 and will be starting Chapter 2. Look for the last POW of the quarter on Wednesday, due the following Wednesday.

Week of October 15th

We actually have a five day week of school, though there will be shorter classes on Friday. On Monday, we will be completing a worksheet on Lessons 8 and 9. Lesson 10 will be introduced on Tuesday and students should finish their POW #3 for homework. After collecting their POW's on Wednesday, we will be doing a review of Chapter 1, getting ready for the test on Thursday. Hope to have our third SBR Test on Friday, but we shall see how the week is going. Looking forward to see you at conference on the 25 and 26th.

Week of October 9th

Hope that you enjoyed the long weekend and are ready for another short week of school. Tuesday, we will finish going over 1.7 and Scientific Notation. There will be a quiz on 1.5 -1.7 on Wednesday and a new POW will be passed out. Thursday, we will be moving onto Lesson 1.8 and then 1.9.

October 1st

Three of the next four weeks are short ones leading up to Parent Conferences at the end of the month. We will be finishing up our poster projects and will be starting the presentations on Monday and completing them on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will be spent focusing on 1.7 and applying our Scientific Notation skills to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. There is no school on Friday or Monday due to the long Columbus Day Weekend.

Week of September 24th

Last week of the month. We will be finishing up our work with negative exponents before spending some time on Scientific Notation. A poster project will help students understand this concept. Look for another SBR Test towards the end of the week. POW #2 is due on Wednesday.

Week of September 17th

We have completed our review work of addition, subtraction and order of operations using integers. Now we are making our way through Chapter 1. Mid-week there will be a quiz on the first four lessons. Look for our next POW on Wednesday. Wednesday is a half-day.
